Frequently asked questions
Is the credit note template free?
Yes — Word and PDF, free with no signup and no watermark.
Why not just edit the original invoice?
Because invoices are sequentially numbered — editing or deleting one breaks the audit trail. A separate credit note keeps your records clean.
Does a credit note reverse the tax too?
Usually yes — crediting part of an invoice also reverses the tax on that portion.
